Baldwin Wallace Email Service Overview

A Baldwin Wallace Email Account is assigned to all Students, Faculty and Staff, as well as campus departments and organizations. The Baldwin Wallace Email Account is the "Official" means of communication between Baldwin Wallace University and Students, Faculty and Staff.

Cost
There is not cost involved with receiving or using a Baldwin Wallace Email Account. The email account is a Microsoft Office 365 account.
Who can get it?
Students, Faculty and Staff receive a Baldwin Wallace Email Account free of charge, as well as campus departments and organizations. Departments who have guests to Baldwin Wallace may request an temporary email account for their visitor if their stay is longer than 1 month.
How can I get it?
  • Students Email Accounts are created 48 hours after their paid deposit. Instructions will be sent on how to activate and start using the BW Email account.
  • Faculty / Staff Email Accounts are created when the report of hire is set to Information Technology.

Faculty & Staff Email
How do I?

Fowarding BW Email from a Faculty or Staff account is not permitted. Baldwin Wallace University Email is the "official" communication method for Baldwin Wallace University. Faculty & staff are responsible for actively monitor your Baldwin Wallace University Email account.



Baldwin Wallace University Email can be accessed by visiting owa.bw.edu.


OR


If your mailbox has been migrated to Office 365, use: outlook.com/owa/bw.edu. Use the same user name and password that you use at work to login.

To share your calendar with another Microsoft Outlook/Office 365 user, follow the instructions below:


  • Launch Microsoft Outlook
  • Click Calendar
  • On the top ribbon bar click Home
  • Click Share Calendar





  • In the Sharing Invitation that appears, enter the BW Faculty, Student or Staff you want to share your Calendar with in the To: field.
  • Enter or select any other options wish to add, just as if you were sending an e-mail message.

  • NOTE: You can specify how much Calendar detail you share;

    • Availability Only
    • Limited Detail
    • Full Detail

    The recipient will receive an Email notification stating you shared your calendar. You can also request that the recipient share his or her Exchange Calendar with you.

    On your iOS device or iPhone

    • Touch the Settings icon
    • Touch the Mail, Contacts, Calendars setting
    • Touch Add Account
    • Touch Exchange

      • Enter your BW Email address in the Email field
      • Enter your BW Email password in the Password field
      • Provide a description of this email account
        EXAMPLE: BW Email)

    • Touch Next

    • NOTE: You may need to provide additional information to have your iOS device read your email.
    • Enter outlook.office365.com in the Server field
    • Enter your BW Email address in the Username field
    • Touch Next

    • You will have to select which applications you would like to sync between your iOS device and your BW Email.


      Your iOS device is configured to read your BW Email. It may take several minutes for messages to appear in your inbox.     On your Android device
    • Touch Applications
    • Touch Settings
    • Touch Accounts
    • Touch Add Account

    • NOTE: You may have to select Manual Setup at this point depending on your Android version
    • Touch Exchange or Corporate for the mail-type option
      • Type your full email address including @bw.edu
      • Type your BW Email password in the password field
    • Touch Next

    • Note: If the options do not appear the same, you may have to try Manual setup.

      To make changes to the setting, used the following information

      • Username: Use your full BW email address
      • Password: Use your BW email password
      • Server: Use outlook.office365.com
      • Use secure connection (SSL) - (Checked)
      • Domain: If prompted for a domain enter bw.edu

    • You will be asked to provide security permissions for this connection. Select Ok if a Remote Security Administration Box appears.
    • Select all of the features you would like synced between your Android device and your BW email account and select
    • Touch Next
    • Name your account your BW email address again if you wish
    • Touch Done

    • Your BW email is now set up. From the home screen, tap Applications > Email . Your BW email should appear now.

    Items that have been emptied from the Deleted Items folder can be restored using the Recover Deleted Items feature in Outlook. These items can be restored within 14 days of empting the Deleted Items folder before they are permanently removed.

      Using Microsoft Outlook 2010
    • Launch Microsoft Outlook 2010
    • Click the Deleted Items folder
    • Click Folder menu option
    • Click Recover Deleted Items within Clean Up


      Using Microsoft Office 2013
    • Launch Microsoft Outlook 2013
    • Click Folder toolbar option
    • Click Recover Deleted Items


      Using Microsoft Office 2016
    • Launch Microsoft Outlook 2016
    • Click Folder toolbar option
    • Click Recover Deleted Items


    A window will open containing a list of items that can be recovered. You can sort on the sender of the message or on the date the email was emptied from the Deleted Items folder.

    • Click on an email to recover

    Forward Your BW Outlook Live Email

    Step 1. Log in to your Outlook Live account.

    Step 2. Click Options

    Step 3. Click See All Options

    Step 4. Click Forward your email

     

     

    Step 5. Enter the email address you would like your BW Email forward. In the Forward my email to: field

    Step 6. Click Start Forwarding
