How do I ...?

  • Faculty & Staff: BW-Info & BW-Personal
    • BW-Info: BW business, announcements, and deadlines for faculty & staff
    • BW-Personal: Items for sale, fund-raisers, personal (public) communications
  • Student: Campus Announcements & Student Bulletin
    • Campus Announcements: BW business, events, and deadlines for students

NOTE: NOTE: BW faculty and staff can post to any of these four lists.

Students can only post to the Student Bulletin.

  • Login to my.bw.edu.

  • From the Menu, select the EMPLOYEES HOME site (viewable to fac/staff only) to post to a faculty/staff list or select the STUDENTS HOME page to add a post for students (viewable to everyone at BW).
  • Choose the list you wish to post to. Lists are tabbed together. The active tab is displayed with a brown background. Make sure the tab you are posting to is active. image

  • If you want to add an image to your post, use the “Edit” tab and choose the “Attach File” option. Please do not choose the “Insert” tab when doing this. Inserting a picture will archive that image on the portal site requiring administrators to constantly monitor and delete unnecessary content.

  • Go to MyBW and click on the heading of the list you wish to forward. Next, click on “Edit Announcements and Alerts” at the bottom of the list.

  • From the Toolbar on the top of your screen: Click on the “List” tab to expand that menu.
  • Next, click the drop-down carrot on the “Alert Me” icon to expand that menu.
  • Then, click “Set alert on this list.”

  • Now choose the desired options from each menu and click “OK” at the bottom when you’re finished.

    • By default, your BW email address will appear.

    • >It is recommended to keep the default settings checked for both of these settings:
      • Change Type – All Changes
      • Send Alerts for These – Anything Changes

    • Certain combinations of choices for these two settings have resulted in no delivery notifications messages for some users.
    • Select when and how often you’d like to receive the alerts: Immediately, a daily summary (choose time), or a weekly summary (choose day and time).
