Instructions: Export Grades from Canvas

Log in to Canvas
- Go to canvas.bw.edu
- Sign in using your BW credentials.

Open the Course
- From the Dashboard, select the course you want to export grades from.

Open the Gradebook
- In the course navigation menu on the left, click Grades.

Export the Gradebook
- Select Export from the menu.
- Choose Export Entire Gradebook.

Download the File
- Canvas will generate a CSV file and download it to your computer.
- Open the file using Excel or another spreadsheet application.

The exported CSV file typically includes:
- Student names and IDs
- Assignment names
- Assignment scores
- Current totals (depending on Gradebook settings)
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I export grades for a single student or assignment?
- Canvas only allows exporting the entire Gradebook at once.
- You can filter or edit the CSV file after downloading it.
Can students export their own grades?
- No. Canvas does not provide students with a grade export option.
