This guide helps you troubleshoot problems connecting devices to the BW_Jacket WiFi network. Follow the steps below to identify common causes and restore access as quickly as possible.
Issue description
Customers are unable to connect their devices to the BW_Jacket WiFi network, even after multiple attempts to reset WiFi passwords. This issue may be caused by incorrect credentials, device settings, network availability, or a temporary network problem.
Signs of trouble
- The device does not join the BW_Jacket WiFi network.
- The device shows an incorrect password or authentication error.
- The WiFi network appears, but the connection fails repeatedly.
- The device connects briefly and then disconnects.
Basic troubleshooting steps
- Confirm that you are selecting the correct network name: BW_Jacket.
- Re-enter the WiFi password carefully and check for uppercase and lowercase characters.
- IMPORTANT: Enter the wi-fi password exactly as it appears in your wifi.bw.edu portal. Click here to see your BW_Jacket Wi-Fi password.
- Forget the BW_Jacket network on the device and try connecting again.
- Confirm that the Private MAC Address is turned off or that the device is configured to use phone MAC (not a randomized MAC).

- Restart the device you are trying to connect.
- Move closer to the WiFi access point and try again.
