Baldwin Wallace University is implementing changes regarding the use of @bw.edu email addresses with personal Apple Accounts.
What You Need to Know:
- Effective immediately, no new Apple Accounts can be created using an @bw.edu email address.
- If you are using an Apple Account for BW-related purposes, please let the IT Support Center know as soon as possible.
Action Required for Existing Apple Accounts:
If your Apple Account was created with a **bw.edu** email address, you need to change the primary email address to a personal, non-BW email (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud). This ensures you retain access to your account and any purchases after leaving BW.
Why This Matters:
When you leave BW, your **@bw.edu email address** will no longer be accessible. Without making this change, you risk losing access to your Apple Account and any purchases linked to it.
How to Update Your Apple Account Email Address
On Your iPhone or iPad:
- Open Settings, then tap your name.
- Select Sign-In & Security.
- Tap your primary email address to edit.
- Select Remove from Account to delete the BW email.
- Choose another associated email or add a new primary email address.
- Follow the on-screen steps to verify your new email address.
On the Web:
- Visit the Apple Account Website and log in.
- Navigate to Sign-In & Security, then select Email & Phone Numbers.
- Click the Remove button next to your primary email.
- Enter a new primary email address and follow the verification steps.
