How do I reset my BW Microsoft Office 365 Password?

Change BW Email Password

To update/Change your BW Office365 Account Password:

STEP 1:  Visit myaccount.microsoft.com.

STEP 2: Sign in to your BW Office365 account using your BW username and current password.

STEP 3: Select Password from the left navigation pane OR click on the Change Password link from the Password module.

STEP 4: Follow the instructions shown in RED in the graphic below.

 

Change BW Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

To change or add additional methods to your MFA:

STEP 1: Visit https://myaccount.microsoft.com.

STEP 2: Click the Security Tab

STEP 3: Click Update Info

STEP 4: You can change or delete methods if they already exist. However, to set up a new method, click “add sign-in method.”

What makes a strong password

The easiest way to protect yourself from cyber threats is by having a strong password. The longer and more complex your password is, the more difficult it will be to crack. Hackers have databases full of the most common passwords and phrases, and they can run a comparison with your password to find a match.

Your password should be greater that nine characters long, with at least one capital letter, one number and one special character "@", or "%", etc. Add an extra level of security by changing your password regularly to ensure that you stay ahead of the hackers. Remember, the best passwords contain as much randomness as possible.

  • Bad: FuzzyDog#8254!
  • Good: %FuZZyDOG#8254!
  • Great: myFuzzyDog-eats4bones!Aday


IMPORTANT: It is important to remember that you should not use the same password for multiple accounts, no matter how strong it is,because if one account gets compromised, then they all get compromised.
